Message from the Board

Our 2023 pool season is about to begin! Yayyyy! The pool officially opens on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Even though you have read the Rules and Regulations sent in two previous emails, we thought it would be good to highlight some specific rules and courtesies before our season begins so we all have a fabulous summer at the pool.

1. We will try to have one guard on duty everyday from 11am-5pm. There is a shortage of guards locally and nationally. Many of our neighboring pool clubs, town parks, and camps are starting their summer without lifeguards. We are very fortunate to have Karissa returning, a new guard Molly starting, and Taylor subbing from time to time! With this said, it is very important that parents actively supervise their children while on the pool grounds even if there is a guard on duty. Also, members between the ages of 14-17 can attend the pool without a parent ONLY IF A GUARD IS ON DUTY. Our 14-17 year olds may have 1 guest with them ONLY IF A GUARD IS ON DUTY. Also, inappropriate behavior or language will not be tolerated by any members or their guests.

2. EVERYONE must sign in, members and guests! Our sign-in system is very easy.

3. We will no longer have cooking utensils available in the storage room for the club to use. If you would like to use the grills, you must bring your own utensils and take them home. Make sure the gas is off and the grills are cleaned after each use.

4. No food should be left in the refrigerator. After one week, all food and containers will be thrown out.

5. No alcoholic beverages can be left overnight.

6. No glassware in or around the pool area, only allowed on the grass area.

7. All children 14 and under must take a swim test and pass it to be allowed in the deep end, even if you have passed the test in a previous year.

8. No blow up air filled floats allowed in the pool, only noodles allowed. Arm band floaties and infant carrier floats are allowed with/under parent supervision.

9. If you use the pool before the lifeguard is on duty, please take the aqua bot out of the pool.

9. If you use the pool before the lifeguard is on duty, please take the aqua bot out of the pool.

10. If you are the last person to leave the pool, please refer to and complete the Closing the Pool checklist posted on the bulletin board near the sign-in sheet, which includes dropping in the aqua bot and making sure the pool house and both gates are locked.

11. If you need a key to the club, please see Annrose during the Memorial Day party. She will have some to purchase. You can purchase a key for $10.00, cash only.

12. Please see Bruce Mollenthiel or Annrose during the Memorial Day party to make sure your Emergency Family Information form is up to date and that we have your Rules and Regulations form signed.

13. If you plan on having a private party this summer, please book it early with Phil Attina so a guard can be secured. No guard means no party. Because our guard hours have changed, parties can be held from either 5-8pm or 6-9pm. No parties allowed Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The Board would like to take this opportunity, as we approach Memorial Day, to thank the men and women who have served our country but are no longer with us. We would also like to thank those who are still with us and have served or who are currently serving. We are grateful for your service!

Lastly, if you plan on attending our Memorial Day party on Sunday, please  RSVP.

Thank you,
The GMSC Board
